About CCASTD
Challenged by changing roles and changing demands, CCASTD members are working to identify new strategies for organizational learning and competitiveness. We find the information, advice, assistance and support we need to meet our challenges, strengthen our organizations, and develop ourselves, in the Chicagoland Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development.
One of 140+ chapters of ASTD, and one of the largest chapters nationwide, the Chicagoland Chapter was founded in 1943. Today, CCASTD is an organization of 1,200+ workplace learning & performance professionals working and serving in the greater Chicago metropolitan area.
Our vision is be the cutting edge and 'go to' association for driving the workplace learning & performance industry in the Chicagoland area. Our mission is to provide workplace learning & performance professionals with a professional network association that allows them to connect, empower, and engage by providing:
- Programs that address novice to mastery levels of expertise
- Communication on all types of workplace learning & performance strategies and technologies
- Career transition services for members and the community
- Professional workplace learning & performance resources for members and their organizations
- Online peer interactivity and organically generated peer networks
- Skill building through leadership and community service opportunities

Increase the effectiveness and profitability of Chicago area businesses and organizations by ensuring that local WLP professionals have the competencies, resources, and development opportunities to provide strategic and tactical value to those organizations.
